Guided wave radar level transducers used in slurry storage tanks

Aug 11 , 2023

Guided wave radar level transducer has been recognized for its good stability and high accuracy. For paper mills, small size slurry tank level measurement has been the focus of their attention. Effective monitoring of slurry storage tank level can not only save paper resources, so as to avoid environmental pollution.

In my opinion, the use of guided wave radar level transducer to monitor the liquid level is not the only method, but it can provide an effective solution for the industrial measurement at present. Now on the market, can complete the level measurement of a lot of instruments, such as: submersible level sensor, ultrasonic level sensor, capacitance level sensor and so on. These level sensors have many advantages, but their disadvantages are also obvious. They are not compatible with more mediaum level measurements or must be used under special circumstances, which will lead to high user costs. But guided radar level transducers are based on the time-travel principle. Radar waves travel at the speed of light, and the running time can be converted into object level signals by electronic components. The probe sends out a high-frequency pulse and propagates along the cable or rod probe. When the pulse encounters the material surface, it is reflected back and received by the receiver in the instrument, and the distance signal is converted into the object level signal. This unique working principle makes the guided wave radar level transducer has incomparable advantages.

Advantages of guided wave radar level transducer

Its beam Angle is small and its ability is concentrated, so it has strong anti-interference ability.

It is almost impervious to corrosion, foam, water vapor, and pressure changes and has a wide range of applications.

It has a shorter wavelength and a smaller measurement blind spot, especially suitable for small material can measurement.

Because of its pulse operating principle, it has very low emission power and is harmless to the container and human body.

By analyzing the advantages of guided wave radar level transducer, we find that it can not only be used for liquid level monitoring of slurry storage tank, but also has better adaptability to other medium and environment.
