Well Depth Sensor for Seismic Monitoring
Seismic monitoring generally uses monitoring instruments, such as well depth sensors, water level gauges, seismometers, electromagnetic wave measuring instruments, etc., to monitor the microscopic information of earthquake precursors.
Well Depth Sensor for Seismic Monitoring
Some earthquake observatory stations would drill deep wells which generally require the anticipation of well depth sensors. The diameter of the observation well is about 310mm, and the depth of the final hole is about 400 meters, which is much deeper than ordinary deep wells. Earthquake monitoring equipment and well depth sensors are installed in the well. Surface observation items include air temperature, air pressure, rainfall, etc. The measured data are transmitted to the earthquake monitoring center in real time via a dedicated line.
How Well Depth Sensor is Used for Seismic Monitoring
Well depth sensors are dedicated for deep wells with measuring range up to 500m. Not only can they provide real time water level information on the site, but also the data can be transmitted remotely with the combination of matching instruments. So the data can be transmitted to and viewed in the monitoring center.
The Importance of Well Depth Sensor
With the assistance of well depth sensors, data measured by high-tech, high-precision measuring instruments and systems play an important role in comprehensive observations of earthquakes and precursors, and capturing earthquake and precursor anomaly information.
