How to Protect Water Pressure Sensor from Pressure Peak

Aug 11 , 2023

Water pressure sensor is widely used in various industries, such as in hydraulic system. While in applications of hydraulic system, pressure peak might occur. Pressure peak refers to the rapid rise or fall of pressure. If the rise or fall is too fast, the pressure generated within a few milliseconds will exceed the overload pressure of the pressure sensor and cause damage to the pressure sensor.

How to Protect Water Pressure Sensor from Pressure Peak

Then how to protect water pressure sensor from the damage? A good way to prevent this damage is the design of damping. The purpose is to reduce pressure peaks so that they would no longer exceed the overload pressure of the pressure sensor and cause damage. Based on this, the damping is installed in the front of pressure pipe. When the pressure peaks generate and go through the pressure sensor, the damping would first bear and disperse the pressure peaks, so they will no longer directly contact the diaphragm. Thus the sensor core is well protected.

How to Protect Water Pressure Sensor from Pressure Peak

If no damping in the water pressure sensor used in some applications where pressure peaks frequently occur, what would happen? First, pressure peaks would damage the pressure sensor and other devices, such as the piping fittings, clamp or pump. And then the accuracy of the sensor is reduced though it still works. Inaccurate data might be provided and economic loss would be caused.
